The design department at BMW have revealed a very special concept car, capable of changing shape.

The GINA (Geometry and Functions In "N" Adaptions) is based around a Z8 Roadster chassis.

Most remarkably of all, the exterior skin of the GINA is made of a stretchy lightweight fabric.

The BMW design team conceive of the car as able to 'reshape' itself, depending on conditions and the driver's desires.

The GINA philosophy offers designers as well as development and production specialists an opportunity to challenge existing principles and conventional processes.

Solutions that will benefit the car of the future are examined without predefined rules and from as many perspectives as possible.

This also involves questioning what is believed to be set in stone.
